Infolink Consulting has released the global photovoltaic module supply ranking for the first half of 2024. In a survey of manufacturers, changes were detected in the major global leaders. Jinko Solar ranks first, followed by JA Solar and Trina Solar. Longi ranks fourth, followed by Tongwei, Astronergy and Canadian Solar.
Jinko Solar, JA Solar, LONGi and Trina Solar remain in the top four in terms of module shipments. Tongwei currently ranks fifth. Tongwei started manufacturing solar modules in August 2022. It was ranked 8th in the world that year, with shipments of 7.94GW. It then ranked 6th with 31.11GW, and 5th in the first half of 2024 with 18.67GW.
According to Tan Youru, an analyst at BloombergNEF, China exported 212 GW of solar cells and modules in the first 10 months of 2023, some 19 percent more than exports in the whole of 2022. While the value of solar product exports from China was flat in the third quarter, volumes rose month-on-month, thanks to lower module prices, he said.
The latest monthly solar PV export data from the world’s largest exporter, China, by country or region of destination. Ember China solar export dataset provides the following information: The IEA has stated that China’s solar photovoltaic exports account for 80% of the global market.
The European Union was the biggest destination for China's PV exports in 2022, buying nearly $23 billion worth of products, up 113 percent year-on-year. This is equivalent to about 84 GW of modules, more than half of China's total module exports in 2022.
