Estonia has seen rapid growth in field of solar energy which was ensured by expiry of the renewable energy subsidy for generating installations with an electrical capacity of less than 50 kWh, as well as by the announcement of low tenders for renewable energy, cheaper technologies and improved availability.
Estonia will receive €18 million to support two wind-based schemes. The largest is the €9.8 million Püssi project, which combines solar and wind capacity in a hybrid energy park. The €8.2 million Maima Wind Park will construct new turbines in the villages of Tarva and Tõrdu in Põhja-Pärnumaa municipality.

This impressive solar project is currently the largest PV project in the Baltic States and in Estonia in particular.
In order to promote and facilitate the hydrogen as an energy source, Estonia introduced in 2021 a pilot project with introduction of green public transport. The value of said project is EUR 5 million.
A state agency in Estonia has provided €5.2 million (US$5.7 million) in grants for 10 energy storage projects, including a 4MW/8MWh battery storage project from utility Eesti Energia.
